 There are 1,425 assistance programs administered by 57 federal agencies. The federal government offers 15 types of assistance (seven of these are financial types, and eight non-financial types). The most comprehensive listing of federal programs, for education, career or business, can be found in the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA). This catalog can be obtained at most public libraries, or purchased at the US Government Printing Office (GPO) at http://www.gpo.gov/.   If you want a user-friendly, easy-to-navigate catalogue, visit the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE) at http://aspe.hhs.gov/. Click the link for the Catalogue of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA). Youll find detailed information on each program.
